Absa Faye, the second wife of President of the Republic Bassirou Diomaye Faye, gave birth this Friday morning to a child at the Bellevue Clinic. As soon as the information was shared, Internet users indulged in a veritable festival of creativity, already imagining the baptism which will probably take place at the Presidential Palace.
Social media was flooded with winks and puns on “lakh”, this traditional porridge made from millet and milk, accompanied by synonyms for baptism in national languages.
The occasion is unique and historic: the four previous presidents of the Republic, predecessors of Diomaye Faye, never experienced the joy of being fathers during their mandate.
And now President Diomaye Faye stands out again with a new record: the arrival of a baby at the Palace, an event which risks remaining unparalleled for many years.
Perhaps with the arrival of this baby, the country’s new host, the opposition will finally be fully represented at the Palace for a sargal in honor of the couple, far from the rivalries and socio-political quarrels, like those around of Farba Ngom, Barthélemy Dias or even the external debt…
-All our congratulations to the presidential couple and our best wishes for a long life to the baby and his parents.
