During a press briefing held following his talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, the head of Ivorian diplomacy expressed the support of his country to the autonomy plan presented by the Kingdom of Morocco, which constitutes the only credible and realistic solution for the resolution of this regional dispute.

He further praised the efforts of the United Nations as the exclusive framework for achieving a realistic, practical and lasting solution to the dispute over the Sahara.
In this regard, Mr. Bourita thanked Côte d’Ivoire for its constant and firm support for the territorial integrity of Morocco, in particular for its clear position in favor of the Moroccan Sahara which resulted in the opening of a Consulate General of Ivory Coast in Laâyoune in 2020.
