SENEGAL-EDUCATION-FORMATION / Dagana: system actors trained to strengthen student performance in mathematics – Senegalese press agency

Richard-Toll, January 16 (APS) – School directors, teachers and heads of School Management Committees (CGEs), participated in training focused on strengthening student performance in mathematics in elementary schools, as part of the Project to Improve Learning in Elementary Mathematics (PAAME)

“Today we are in Richard-Toll for training for school principals, teachers and all the presidents of the School Management Committees (CGE),” declared El Hadji Amirou Souaré, member of the national team of the PAAME ​​project.

He spoke on Thursday at the end of this training which lasted four days for education stakeholders in Dagana, in the presence of PAAME ​​focal point, Samba Sy.

Mr. Souaré underlined that the aim of the project is to ”strengthen the capacity of teachers on exercise books and teaching aids used in class for better improvement of teaching-learning in mathematics in primary schools”.

He specified that the project focuses on two fundamental aspects, namely the educational component and the community dimension and also aims to bring the community and the educational sector together.

»We included the presidents of the CGEs in the training because they play an important role in the community. Our objective is to push educational and community stakeholders to work together in order to meet the challenge of the performance of elementary education,” he said.

Mr. Souaré maintains that the synergy between community actors and teachers will improve the quality of teaching both in schools and at home.
