An episode of air pollution will affect the Rhône Valley and the Drôme, this Friday, January 17. “Alert level N1 (orange) is activated, due to the presence of fine particles (PM10) and emissions linked to combustion,” informs the prefecture in a Facebook post.

Measures to limit pollution

State services remind the measures to be respected to limit pollution:

  • Reduction of speed on the roads: minus 20 km/h on axes at 90 km/h, minus 10 km/h on axes at 80 km/h;
  • Ban on burning: no fire or burning of green or agricultural waste or burning;
  • Limitation of wood heating;
  • Reduction of dust emissions on construction sites and areas.

These measures remain in force until the end of the episode. The prefecture also advises, particularly vulnerable people (children, elderly people, respiratory patients), to limit prolonged outings.
