“Technology at the service of security”. Here is essentially how Philippe Marini, mayor of Compiègne (41,000 inhabitants), summarizes the project. His city announces that it has equipped its municipal police officers with on-board digital tablets.
A tool that would make any territorial official responsible for maintaining order in France green with envy… Because more than a simple gadget, this cutting-edge equipment will above all be a precious ally in the frantic fight they are waging against delinquency.
Tablets connected to the urban area supervision center
Connected to the Intercommunal Supervision Center (CSI)these tablets should allow agents to receive real-time images of situations requiring their intervention, “even before they arrive on the scene,” specifies Philippe Marini.
This innovative system offers better knowledge of intervention contexts and facilitates the identification of perpetrators. These tablets not only improve the effectiveness of interventions, but also contribute to enhanced coordination between forces on the ground.
The City of Compiègne currently has around thirty agents. Training has already been provided to them to use this new tool, since the project was initiated last summer.
