The Minister of Justice Abdellatif Wahbi received at the headquarters of the ministry the ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Morocco, Berit Bas, as part of a meeting devoted to the strengthening of judicial cooperation between the two countries and the examination of a certain number of questions of common interest.
During this meeting, the Ambassador praised the excellent level of judicial cooperation between Morocco and Denmark, expressing his deep gratitude to the Moroccan authorities for their rapid and judicious intervention which led to the arrest of one of the main suspects in a major criminal case which has generated great interest in Denmark. This arrest was carried out recently in Tangier by Moroccan police officers, following an official request from the Danish authorities and within the framework of international judicial cooperation.
For his part, the Minister of Justice stressed that Morocco attaches great importance to the principle of non-impunity and is keen to fulfill its international obligations in terms of judicial cooperation, noting that this arrest reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to fight against transnational organized crime and to defend the rule of law.
The minister also underlined Morocco’s willingness to strengthen coordination and cooperation mechanisms with Denmark for the development of justice and the achievement of judicial security.
This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral relations and expand areas of cooperation in order to serve the interests of both countries and promote the values of justice and respect.
