Friday January 10, it was in the presence of the president of the Community of Communes of the Estuaire (CCE), representatives of the gendarmerie, firefighters and in front of a large and attentive audience (around 160 people) that Mayor Pierre Caritan and his advisors presented their wishes to the Saint-Cyrian population.
After revealing “behind the scenes of the town hall”, Pierre Caritan gave an update on municipal finances. “Since our election, we have been faithful to our commitment to consolidate the finances of the municipality without resorting to borrowing and without increasing tax rates.”
The elected official then presented the Small Town of Tomorrow program: “It is a ten-year development project in order to energize the town and provide a better living environment for residents. The signing of the Territorial Revitalization Operation allows for a commitment from financial partners in order to make the projects a reality. To date, we have had 75% of subsidies for the actions undertaken,” assures the mayor.
The projects for 2025 have been listed: revegetation of the courtyard of the Georges-Brassens elementary school, classification of the Berdassit pond as a sensitive natural area, search for a project leader with a view to opening a grocery store in bulk, and local producers in a short circuit in front of the church and installation of a Municipal Youth Council, among others.
Shades and gendarmerie
Among the planned works, we note the installation of photovoltaic shade houses in the college parking lot, the creation of a Childminder's House (MAM) with opening planned for February, and the hunting room for which “there is nothing left more than the surroundings to be refined”, and the rehabilitation of the villas in the bird village.
Regarding the new gendarmerie, the first shovels will begin in the first half of February 2025. The first site meeting is scheduled for February 16.
