The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform organized, Tuesday January 14 at the Mohammed V Theater in Rabat, a ceremony on the occasion of the New Year Amazigh 2975.
This ceremony, chaired by the Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, in the presence of members of the government and political figures and from the worlds of culture and communication, was marked by the signing of two conventions for the implementation of the formalization of Amazigh, between the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and several government departments and public institutions.
This is a framework agreement for the government program relating to the implementation of the official character of Amazigh, signed by Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Moulay El Hassan Daki, King’s Attorney General at the Court of Cassation and Head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, Minister of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy, and Azzedine El Midaoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation.
It was also signed by Lahcen Saadi, Secretary of State for Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Mustapha El Ktiri, High Commissioner for former resistance fighters and former members of the liberation army and Khalid Safir, general director of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG).
An agreement was also signed aimed at strengthening reception, guidance and advice services in the Amazigh language.
It was signed by Mrs. El Fallah Seghrouchni, Nizar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water, Mohamed Saad Berrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, of Culture and Communication – Sectors of communication and youth -, Naima Ben Yahia, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and of the Family, Mustapha Baitas, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Relations with Parliament and Mr. Saadi.
In a statement to the press, Mr. Bensaid stressed that the Amazigh New Year, celebrated in the different regions of the Kingdom, was marked by the signing of several conventions aimed at simplifying procedures and strengthening the proximity of the administration to all citizens, particularly those who only speak the Amazigh language.
-Mr. Bensaid specified that the government’s efforts in the youth, culture and communication sector will materialize in the adoption of Amazigh in official documents, and in the strengthening and support of the Amazigh culture in all its projects, including music and theater, in order to respond to the demands of civil society actors.
For his part, Mr. Saadi indicated that the two conventions will allow the integration of the Amazigh language in this government department, in order to meet the needs of artisans in terms of guidance, advice and communication relating to the various programs of its department and to help them improve their performance.
The integration of the Amazigh language within the State Secretariat for Crafts, Social and Solidarity Economy will concern all levels, namely digital platforms, programs intended for crafts and signage. , affirmed Mr. Saadi, adding that these two conventions will make it possible to initially train 156 guides who will support guidance and advice activities.
The event saw the participation of several artistic troupes who performed songs and dances inspired by Amazigh heritage and culture from different regions of the Kingdom.
