An artistic evening was organized on Monday in the town of Bouizakarne (province of Guelmim), to celebrate the Amazigh New Year 2975.
This artistic evening is part of the event “Cultural Heritage Days”which was organized for three days (from January 11 to 13) by the Ombres de l’arganier association for development and human solidarity with the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Sector of Culture-.
The president of the Ombres de l’arganier association for development and human solidarity, Boubker Oungher, told MAP that this artistic evening is part of the celebration of the Amazigh New Year by the society’s associations. civil society, noting that this celebration is an incarnation of national unity and the cultural richness and diversity which distinguish Morocco, a country of diversity, coexistence and cultural and civilizational mixing between nations.
He added that the Amazigh New Year celebrations also constitute a realization of the efforts made by all government sectors to promote all the cultural and linguistic components of the Kingdom.
This evening was marked by a tribute to many local artistic, cultural, educational, associative and sporting figures who have provided services to the region and Amazigh culture.
-It should be noted that the celebration of the Amazigh New Year “Yennayer 2975” aims to promote Amazigh culture as an essential component of Moroccan identity and to consolidate the values of coexistence and cultural openness.
This celebration is a continuation of the decision announced by HM King Mohammed VI to establish January 14, corresponding to the first day of the Amazigh year, as an official public holiday in Morocco.
