Mathis Amougou would still not be heading towards an extension with ASSE.
Mathis Amougou is one of the last jewels of the Saint-Etienne team. Integrated last season into the AS Saint-Étienne professional group, the French midfielder was ardently courted by Bayer Leverkusen last summer. But despite the desire of the reigning German champion, the 18-year-old ultimately stayed one more season with his training club.
A departure in the coming months, however, seems inevitable for Mathis Amougou, who only has a year and a half left on his contract.
-Amougou refuses everything from ASSE
While the Foréz leaders would like to strengthen their player and extend him and that Bayer Leverkusen would still be interested in him, the native of Blanc-Mesnil would continue to refuse all the extension proposals made by the Saint-Etienne board. At least that's what 10 Sport claims, which also tells us that several big agencies, including that of a certain Jorge Mendes, are trying to convince Mathis Amougou to change representatives.
