Neubois tunnel accident – Republic and Canton of Jura

On Tuesday January 14, 2025 around 0850 a.m., a traffic accident occurred on the A16, Berne lane, at the exit of the Neu-Bois tunnel.

For a reason that the investigation will have to determine, a motorist lost control of her vehicle and hit a truck which was traveling normally, before ending her journey in the central safety barrier.

The driver of the truck was not injured and the driver involved had superficial injuries.

The tow truck on duty evacuated the vehicle in question and the truck was able to resume its journey after the investigations.

The Neu-Bois tunnel was closed to traffic for approximately 1h30 for the purposes of the investigation and the restoration of the roadway.
