Video surveillance cameras will be installed in Pontmain, in Mayenne, during the year. It is a measure which must respond to the “vandalism of which our commune was the victim in 2024”, in the words of Marie-Antoinette Guesdon, mayor of the commune of 800 inhabitants, during her wishes. Already in 2023, around fifteen crimes had been recorded in the village, including six thefts and burglaries and six acts of violence against people. Figures have been increasing for several years.

Other projects of the year

Among the work to be carried out, especially on the bell tower of the parish church which is a priority for the mayor. As this is increasingly unstable, a repair will be carried out to ensure everyone's safety. In other projects, reflections and discussions around a future maternal assistance center are underway at the municipal council. But Marie-Antoinette Guesdon announces a difficult year 2025 “because of the budgetary restrictions we are experiencing”.
