This Tuesday, January 14, 2025, 34 French departments are placed on yellow alert for extreme cold. Aveyron experiences freezing temperatures between -11 and -5°C, causing icy roads and tricky traffic conditions.

For the third consecutive day, the yellow “severe cold” vigilance concerns a large part of French territory. Among the 34 departments affected, Aveyron is particularly impacted, as well as an area extending from -Atlantique in the west to Bas-Rhin in the northeast, via Loir-et-Cher, the Ardennes and the Jura.

Freezing temperatures in Aveyron

According to the official bulletin of the Department, temperatures in Aveyron vary between – 11°C and – 5°C this Tuesday. The authorities are calling for the greatest caution in the face of roadways made slippery by ice, which remains very present despite treatment operations.

Dangerous roads throughout the department

  • North Aveyron : The Lacalm and Saint-Laurent-d'Olt sectors are particularly affected by icy conditions.
  • Aveyron Center : , Baraqueville and Salles-Curan are also experiencing delicate conditions.
  • South Aveyron : The Larzac plateau and the Saint-Sernin sector are affected.
  • West Aveyron : The municipalities of Rignac, Montbazens, Rieupeyroux, Najac, La Salvetat, Capdenac and Decazeville experience slippery roads. Salting and snow removal operations are underway.

Faced with these conditions, the authorities recommend that users limit their travel and be extra vigilant.
