There had been so much talk about their differences and the antagonism that was growing between them that it was becoming difficult to imagine Guy Losbar and Ary Chalus sitting around the same table to advance the same issue. However, they were this Monday afternoon with the other elected members of the ad hoc joint commission whose mission is to carry out reflection on institutional development. They were thus able to agree on a method to move forward together towards this objective.

If the setting often lends itself to large meetings, it was in a more restricted room that the elected officials of the ad hoc commission, headed by the executives of the two major communities, met this Monday afternoon at the departmental residence in Gosier .
A meeting planned for a long time but which was held after the publication that same morning of a column signed by the President of the Region on his way of conceiving “the improvement of the daily life of Guadeloupeans” and particularly “the need for institutional evolution for the Guadeloupean Archipelago.
A position which probably responded to criticism leveled against him here and there and to which he wished to respond.
However, the proximity to the holding of the meeting of the ad hoc committee could in no way be a coincidence. Moreover, it was an opportunity for the head of the regional Executive to call the Guadeloupean population to bear witness to their positions in terms of institutional development.
But perhaps because the atmosphere was not one of antagonistic winds, this platform mentioned in the discussions did not prevent the meeting from following its course and even making it possible to determine a method on which all parties gave their agreement.

The President of the Department now wishes to be able to organize during this first semester a conclusive congress which will lead to the drafting of an organic law which will integrate all the resolutions adopted during the Congress of June 12, 2024.
And the two presidents insist on displaying their commitment to consulting the population before going further on this path towards institutional evolution.
