Jean-Luc Petitrenaud was known for his passion for cooking and French culinary traditions. He began his career at Radio France Clermont-Ferrand before gaining attention on national channels such as France Inter and Europe 1, where he hosted culinary columns. Over the years, he has become one of the iconic faces of gastronomy on the small screen. From the 1990s, he hosted shows like Gourmet postcard or even The Escapades of Petitrenaud. The 74-year-old man died “surrounded by loved ones“, according to his children Louise and Antonin Petitrenaud who also wanted to thank “the people who loved him so much during these years.”

France 5 is shaking up its program schedule this Sunday, January 19 to pay tribute to Jean-Luc Petitrenaud
To honor the memory of Jean-Luc Petitrenaud, France 5 has decided to modify its program schedule this Sunday January 19, 2025. From 4:25 p.m., viewers will be able to rediscover two episodes of Getaways from Petitrenaudculinary discoveries that had made it successful. The first episode, broadcast at 4:25 p.m., is devoted to Saint-Savin, during which the gastronomic columnist explored the culinary traditions of the Pyrenees alongside the chef Jean-Pierre Martin. At 4:55 p.m., another number will be broadcast, this one exploring the world of Éric Frechon, starred chef. More generally, the afternoon will begin at 2:30 p.m. with Here Nougaro – The Tribute Concert and will continue with these rebroadcasts of The Escapades of Petitrenaud. Finally, at 5:25 p.m., the documentary In the shadow of Jackie Kennedy will close in the afternoon. The program entitled Alcohol Free – Does the party get any crazier? which was initially planned, was canceled to make way for the tribute dedicated to Jean-Luc Petitrenaud.
