The President of the National Assembly of Senegal, El Malick Ndiaye, received this Monday, January 13, the United States Ambassador to Senegal, Michael Raynor, for a meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and promoting fundamental values ​​such as as democracy, transparency and good governance.

According to a press release issued by the National Assembly, the two parties expressed their common commitment to developing strategic projects within the framework of increased parliamentary diplomacy. El Malick Ndiaye praised the “exceptional” relations between Senegal and the United States, highlighting Washington’s constant support in the areas of governance and institutional capacity building. He reaffirmed the desire of the Senegalese Parliament to collaborate more with American institutions to promote these essential principles.

For his part, Ambassador Michael Raynor insisted on the importance of parliamentary cooperation, recalling the United States’ commitment to actively supporting Senegalese parliamentarians in carrying out their missions.

During the meeting, El Malick Ndiaye also presented his condolences for the death of former US President Jimmy Carter, while expressing his solidarity with the victims of the devastating fire currently raging in Los Angeles. These declarations illustrate a common desire to strengthen ties between the two nations on a human and institutional level.
