Majid Berhila, whom you surely discovered in Les lascars gays, plays Sofiane, “a business genius, convinced of being a bit Steve Jobs“. The comedian Elodie Poux plays the role of Alice, who runs a grocery store with him, “enjoys talking with customers and gossiping“.

A couple of grocers who are both as different as they are well matched. “If he was the only one running the grocery store, the store would have already closed because, with his excessive ambition, he would have gone crazy… And if she was the only one running it, it would have closed too because by the time she took a customer, the day would already be over. This is how they complement each other well.“, explained the actress.

It was initially the latter who was chosen for the role. Pleasantly surprised, she didn't think long before accepting: “I had to think about fitting something so time-consuming into a schedule that already is. With my husband, who is also my producer, we determined that we could not pass up this proposal“.

Then, the fan of black humor actively participated in the casting of the man who would play her husband in the series. From the auditions, the charm worked with Majid Berhila. “It was love at first sight from the start. When he left the room, we all said to ourselves: 'I wouldn't want to go after him'”, she recalled. The actor was also delighted with this opportunity: “We can't refuse this program, my parents are watching, my friends are watching… It's practically part of the French 'heritage'“.

Despite everything, the actors, who can shoot around 70 scenes in a week, now have to deal with an extremely busy schedule. “I wouldn't want to be the one in charge of our schedules! I can't add anything else, everything is filled“, assured Elodie Poux, who has, moreover, already added dates to the Zénith tour of her show, “The Butterfly Syndrome”.

She is also well aware of the sacrifices that this profession requires: “As soon as I started this job, I was told: 'Now you are a top athlete. You don't party, you don't drink, you don't necessarily celebrate your loved ones' birthdays, and if possible you hire a sports coach‘.”

And even if the pace is intensive, both are totally fulfilled in their role. Especially since they have a right to review the sketches and actively participate in their development. Together, they were able to decide on the first name of their daughter's character, her age and even their respective stories…

“We have meetings with the authors, we read and rework the texts and we really participate in all the stages of a sketch“, explained Elodie Poux. And Majid Berhila confirmed: “This was our big surprise because we didn't think that a machine this big could be so human, we really have great freedom of writing, interpretation, improvisation“.
