After several days of searching, Ahmed, a Moroccan from Amersfoort, was buried in his hometown of Nador at the beginning of January. Aged 58 and suffering from dementia, the deceased had disappeared in the Netherlands since December 23, 2024. After active searches by his family, helped by hundreds of volunteers, the man was finally found without life by a passerby on January 2 in the forest of Klein Zwitserland.
His brother Abdeslam expressed his deep gratitude for the support received during the search and at the funeral, where Muslims and non-Muslims gathered. “I plan to organize a gathering for the volunteers soon as a thank you,” he added, saluting the solidarity of the community during this difficult time.
