Individual reports Hanni (NewJeans) to Immigration Bureau for illegal stay in South Korea – K-GEN

Hanni from NewJeans was reported by an individual for illegally staying in South Korea.

An anonymous citizen recently filed a complaint with the National Civil Complaint System regarding Hanni's alleged illegal stay in South Korea. On January 10, the Seoul Immigration Bureau of the Ministry of Justice responded to this complaint to express that action will only be taken when the working relationship between Hanni and his agency is resolved.

Hanni, who holds dual citizenship from Australia and Vietnam, requires an E-6 visa (entertainment visa) extension to continue his stay and business in South Korea. Foreign artists in the country generally use this visa to work. The E-6 visa is generally issued for one year, and artist agencies renew it every year. According to recent reports, Hanni's visa expired earlier this year.

With Hanni currently in conflict with ADOR over his exclusive contract, fans are concerned about his contract situation and his near future in the industry. Since visa issuance requires agency intervention, some people feel that the conflict with ADOR and HYBE could lead to complications regarding one's visa renewal.

Regarding the report made to the Bureau of Immigration, the Bureau stated: “It is difficult to provide details of a specific foreigner's personal affairs regarding violations of the Immigration Control Act. Once the employment relationship is resolved, we will take necessary action. »
