AMD's Radeon RX 9070 XT is getting a lot of buzz as its launch date approaches. Although AMD's presentation at CES 2025 did not reveal concrete details about the RDNA 4 series, rumors and statements from some AMD representatives indicate that this new graphics card could shake up the consumer GPU segment .
A very good performance/price ratio
AMD has announced a major strategic shift in GPU development. The company is abandoning the race for the most powerful GPU to focus on products that offer excellent value for money. The Radeon RX 9070 series, consisting of the RX 9070 XT and the standard RX 9070, exemplifies this new direction. This choice positions AMD against NVIDIA, particularly in the mid-range card segment, such as the RTX 70 and 80.
Radeon RX 9070 XT Technical Specifications
The Radeon RX 9070 XT is based on the RDNA 4 architecture and Navi 48 silicon engraved at 4 nm. Here are the main characteristics known to date:

The first benchmarks under 3DMark Time Spy Extreme et 3DMark Speed Way show that the RX 9070 XT rivals cards like the NVIDIA RTX 4080 and Radeon RX 7900 XTX. Although these tests are carried out with pilots in the beta phase, they suggest increased competitiveness in the mid-tier segment.
The RX 9070 XT should deliver solid performance for gaming at 1440p and even 4K, especially when paired with technologies like FSR 4.

At CES 2025, several AMD partners, including XFX, Sapphire, ASUS and PowerColor, presented their variants of the RX 9070 XT. These models, featuring triple fan configurations, feature varying designs, from pure white to aggressive gaming style.
Price and availability
AMD plans to open pre-orders for the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 on January 23, 2025. Regarding prices, no official information has yet been revealed. However, analysts estimate that the RX 9070 XT could be released between 700 and 900 eurosto compete with NVIDIA's RTX 5070 and RTX 5080.
