The SNCF announces that works will take place from January 27 to March 28, 2025 on several areas between Metz et Bénestroff ().

Two months of work to replace the rails, sleepers and ballast in order to maintain the performance of the line, according to SNCF.

If the work will be carried out nuit from Monday evening to Saturday morning, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.of the perturbations are expected: “The slowing down of trains during the day when crossing work zones leads to a change in the usual transport plan,” notes the SNCF.

Eight Moselle municipalities affected by SNCF work

Due to the repeated passage of trains, “the track components wear out and must be replaced,” explains the SNCF in the preamble.

In total, between and Bénestroff, SNCF Réseau will carry out 3 km of track regeneration works distributed over several areas. This project will therefore concern the following municipalities:

  • Metz
  • Peltre
  • Rémilly
  • Baudrecourt
  • Brulange
  • Landroff
  • Rodalbe
  • Racrange

This major project will cost 5.2 million euros at SNCF Réseau and will require the mobilization of 60 people.

Traffic disrupted at level crossings

The aforementioned works will take place on the level crossings following:

  • Landroff, located on the RD 20;
  • Brulange, located on the RD 999;
  • Peltre, located on the Peltre municipal road.

“These level crossings will be closed to road and pedestrian traffic as the construction progresses,” says SNCF.

TGV: disruptions announced

Also, the construction site will have consequences on the traffic of certain TGV :

  • « The TGV -Luxembourg will see its travel time extended between and the Moselle stations as well as possible travel limitations in Metz or Strasbourg on several dates.
  • The TGV Strasbourg-Metz- will not serve Sarrebourg station from Monday to Friday from March 14 to March 28. »

Coaches between Metz and Sarrebourg

Finally, users of the TER will also see changes from January 27 to April 12. Here is what is planned in Moselle:

  • “During the week: TER 830318 departing from Strasbourg at 8:49 p.m. and arriving from Sarrebourg at 9:37 p.m., will be partially canceled between Sarrebourg and Metz, a replacement coach will be put in place between these two stations.
  • From Tuesday to Saturday: TER 830301 departing from Metz at 6:41 a.m. and arriving from Strasbourg at 8:10 a.m., will be partially canceled between Metz and Sarrebourg, a replacement coach will be put in place between these two stations. »

Disruptions planned in Alsace

Modifications will also be made to Alsatian connections from February 3 (weekdays):

  • « The TER 832032 departing from Sélestat at 6:05 p.m. and arriving from Mommenheim at 7:14 p.m., will be partially canceled between Mommenheim and Saverne then replaced by a replacement coach.
  • The TER 832037 departing from Mommenheim at 8:12 p.m. and arriving from Sélestat at 9:19 p.m., will be partially canceled between Saverne and Mommenheim, passengers will be transferred to the next train. »
