A third person was arrested on Monday January 13 after a vehicle drove into two police officers on Sunday January 12, alongside a refusal to comply in (Drôme), reports “ici Drôme Ardèche”.

On Sunday, two police officers were injured in Valencia by two young men who drove into them in a stolen car. The two attackers, who are minors and known to the courts, were arrested, with a handgun found in their possession. They were taken into custody for attempted murder of the two police officers and car theft.

Both are suspected of having burglarized a resident of Guilherand-Granges (Ardèche) at his home, in his presence, before leaving with his Tesla car. The car was later spotted by police in Valencia. It was at that moment that the two agents got out of the car and were hit, hit in the legs, one of them more seriously. A second crew then managed, a few minutes later, to block the road to the stolen Tesla and allowed the two minors to be arrested.

The state of health of the two police officers injured in intervention has been stabilized, the Drôme prefecture announced this Monday. The two police officers will only be able to return to work after seven days of ITT for one and 45 days for the most seriously affected. A psychological support unit has been set up at the police station to help staff.

Thierry Devimeux, prefect of Drôme, severely condemns these deliberate and voluntary acts of violence. He provides support to injured police officers.gn
