they mobilize to save a foal in danger of death

The presence of animals at the Necker hospital in had a calming and reassuring effect during young Lila's multiple hospitalizations. It was then obvious for his mother, Maureen Aggoun, to create a traveling farm, Les Zani'Mau en vadrouille, in Grenade-sur-l'Adour.

“Here, no online kitty to ensure operations, only full-time volunteering, and with personal funds”, expresses the young woman, holder of the Certificate of knowledge for pets of domestic species (Acaced). She is currently preparing training in animal mediation, “with the objective of creating a society allowing decent remuneration”. The young president of this associative structure is supported by her husband Dimitri, during her off hours.

In schools or nursing homes

The farm has nearly 70 animals: “Cows, pigs, dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, parrots, parakeets, guinea pigs… coming from abandonment, neglect or mistreatment, with very little financial compensation. » The couple is fortunate to have fields and meadows loaned free of charge by Grenadian owners to accommodate most of the animals, while the smallest stay at the family home. A partnership with the Zoomalia pet store, in Saint-Geours-de-Maremne, is operational for everything relating to food and consumables.

Unable to accommodate the public at home, they travel regularly on request, with their animals, to nurseries, childminder homes, nursing homes, etc. The association enjoyed great success at the International Fair, a fair reward given the couple's human and financial investment.

Animal welfare took on its full meaning in mid-December 2024, with the arrival, entrusted by a breeder, of NewGary For Life, a one and a half year old foal “very young victim of a jaw fracture” , explains Maureen. Various examinations and x-rays from several veterinarians showed “osteomyelitis that was already significant at the time, and which had worsened. In short, he risked dying. »

The foal underwent a CT scan under general anesthesia.

A jackpot

The foal was hospitalized at the Conques Equine Clinic (), and numerous surgical procedures will follow one another over the months. “The costs incurred (imaging, hospitalization, surgery and care) will cost around 5,000 euros. Our small farm cannot finance this operation alone and we cannot resign ourselves to letting him go over a question of money. »

The couple therefore opened a fundraiser on HelloAsso with the aim of raising funds and participating in the rescue of NewGary For Life. They count on the generosity of everyone. As for young Lila, marked by the suffering of this foal, she wishes to become a veterinarian to bring comfort to the animal world.
