In Matam, the implementation of Jakarta Motorcycle registration by the Regional Road Transport Division faces significant obstacles. Since January 6, this operation initiated by the Ministry of Transport aims to supervise and clean up the sector to strengthen safety. However, according to an article on the Sud Quotidien website, many drivers, previously operating outside official standards, are finding themselves facing significant difficulties.
The major problem lies in obtaining the Certificate of Release for Consumption (CMC), an essential document for registration. Drivers are required to provide several documents, including the registration document and driving license. As the head of the regional road transport division of Matam explains, many lack the copy of the seller’s identity document, necessary to complete the CMC.
Alioune Sarr, head of the regional mining service, specifies in the columns of Sud Quotidien that his service directs subscribers to customs to regularize the situation and register the CMC in their name. Faced with the influx of requests and the size of the region, a decentralization of drop-off points is envisaged in the departments of Kanel and Ranérou.
