At the start of 2025, the Aude fishing federation is involved with the Voies navigables de France (VNF) in a period of maintenance of the structures.
The Federation is hard at work for a fortnight from the start of the year, to carry out rescue fishing which allows, in the process, to have a fairly precise idea of the stock of fish available to fishermen. This intervention takes place within a partnership framework which will be the subject of an agreement and a specific article in 2025.
The federation measures for these 2025 rescue fisheries a good reproduction of perch and black bass, which tends to demonstrate that the effort to establish black bass and the associated developments are starting to bear fruit. This element must be confirmed by the next inventories carried out.
The predatory fish thrives in the Canal du Midi, according to the number of pikeperch caught and in particular some pretty specimens to the delight of predatory fishermen. Finally, white fish are still doing just as well on the Canal du Midi with in particular a population of Bream which continues to grow, enough to delight coarse fishermen, regardless of technique, in search of these individuals
