Canada wins gold at the U18 Women’s World Championship with a 3-0 victory in the final against the United States.
Anaïs Leprohon, Marilou Grenier and Rosalie Tremblay are world champions. Well done girls!
Caileigh Tiller opened the scoring on the power play in the first period, while Dorothy Copetti and Stryker Zablocki (in an empty net) scored goals in the third to seal the victory. Marilou Grenier stood out in front of the Canadian net, recording a shutout with 14 saves. Canada dominated the shots on goal 30-14, including 14-5 in the second period. Sydney Sawyer added two assists to the Canadian performance.
In the bronze medal match, Czechia defeated Sweden 2-1. Canada advanced to the final with a 4-2 victory over the Czech Republic in the semi-final on Saturday.
Chloe Primerano, for a second consecutive year, was named Best Defender of the tournament.
The 2026 edition of the U18 Women’s World Championship will be held in Canada, but the host city remains to be determined.
