«No RNI according to this national council will no longer be the same as before” promises the president of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), Aziz Akhannouchduring the fourth session of his party’s national council, Saturday January 11, 2025 in Rabat. A promise that is supported by the results presented both in terms of the development of the party and the performance of the Executive: 20,000 new members since September, unprecedented economic growth.

The RNI claims a convincing economic record

The president of the RNI and Head of government did not miss the opportunity to boast of the significant successes of its government team : tax revenues up by 31 billion dirhams, tourism revenues up by more than 7 billion dirhams with a historic record of 17.4 million visitors, and inflation controlled at 1%. “We are at a major turning point which requires from all of us, leaders and activists, more seriousness, cohesion, cooperation and dynamism,” he insisted in front of the more than 300 members present at the work of the national council. Words which announce a new phase in the trajectory of a party which, while directing government action, displays, according to its president, remarkable vitality on the political field.

In fact, the RNI displayed solid confidence in the future during this meeting. Faced with the members of the national council meeting this Saturday, January 11, 2025 in Rabat, Aziz Akhannouch delivered a speech full of optimism and determination, backed by figures: growth of 4.2% in the third quarter of 2024, foreign investments up 180% and major progress in social areas.

An ambitious social policy serving citizens

The government led by the RNI made social protection a top priority. “We have placed the social state at the heart of our government agenda,” underlined Aziz Akhannouch, recalling the allocation of 10 billion dirhams to finalize the deployment of the social protection program. This ambition is translated into concrete actions: the generalization ofCompulsory health insurance (AMO) to all social categories and the payment of contributions for economically vulnerable people.

The results are tangible: the number of beneficiaries of medical coverage has increased to 10 million Moroccans benefiting from complete protection. The direct social support program will see its budget reach 26.5 billion dirhams in 2025, marking a significant increase in allocations. Particular emphasis was placed on support for widows, whose number of beneficiaries increased sixfold, from 70,000 to 400,000. Allowances per child will gradually increase, from 375 dirhams in 2025 to 400 dirhams in 2026, with a guaranteed minimum of 500 dirhams per family.

A structural reform of the health and education system

Continuing his advocacy in favor of the positive results of governmentthe president of the RNI indicated that the government had undertaken an ambitious reform of the health systemwith a spectacular increase in the budget, going from 19 billion dirhams in 2021 to more than 32 billion in 2025. This increase of 13 billion dirhams will notably allow the rehabilitation of 1,400 local care establishments, including 800 health centers already renovated .

In the field ofeducationan unprecedented investment of 85 billion dirhams was allocated, an increase of 11 billion compared to the previous year. “It is an unprecedented reform audacity which testifies to the importance that we give to our educational system in the construction ofSocial state», declared the president of the RNI.

Perspectives et engagements pour 2025

The year 2025 promises to be a crucial stage in the employment policywith an investment of 14 billion dirhams intended to reduce the unemployment and create opportunities for Moroccan youth. This strategy is based on the stimulation ofproductive investment in key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, industry and services.

The water issue is also a major priority, with the continuation of National drinking water supply and irrigation program 2020-2027. The government plans the completion of 15 large dams and the acceleration of seawater desalination projects, with a target of 1.7 billion cubic meters by 2030, mobilizing a budget of 18 billion dirhams .

A strategic turning point in the life of the party

As for the party, Aziz Akhannouch claimed that the RNI maintains positive dynamics at the organizational level, with the accession of 20,000 new members since last September. This vitality testifies to the attractiveness of the party and its ability to mobilize energies around its political project, according to Mr. Akhannouch, who underlines that “this session marks a major turning point in the performance of all organizations without exception”.

The president of the RNI called on all parallel structures of the party to intensify their pace of work, specifying that “we are entering a political phase which requires all of us, leadership and activist base, more seriousness, cohesion, cooperation and dynamism. This new impetus has already materialized through the recent signing of performance contracts with party coordinators in all regions and provinces, aimed at strengthening the mechanisms of representative democracy. The party is also planning the launch of a new communication tour in the different regions of the Kingdom, faithful to its philosophy of proximity to its members and all citizens.

The RNI national council has, in this way, demonstrated the solidity of the government’s record and the clarity of its vision for the future. As Aziz Akhannouch emphasized: “We remain committed to our political contract with citizens, optimistic about the prosperous future of our country, a future that meets the aspirations of all Moroccans on an equal footing.”
