Attacking local authorities to better establish the socio-economic development of the region is the desire of the Tout Tamba Counda (Ttc) movement. The movement, launched at the baptismal font last June, was launched a few days ago. By Abdoulaye FALL –

The Tout Tamba Counda (Ttc) movement wants to give civic awareness to the populations of Tambacounda. For the upcoming local elections, we will already have to reckon with the Ttc movement. “We will be on the lists of parties or movements that will attack the votes of Tambacoundois,” Ousmane Dia said at the outset. For the coordinator of Ttc of the diaspora, “the objective is to promote citizen participation and above all to encourage the socio-economic emergence of the Tambacounda region. This is the essence of the creation of the Tout Tamba Counda movement,” he explained.

“December 1st was a memorable date,” he maintains. From now on, we will no longer accept airdrops. The region is full of men and women capable of putting it on the rails of development.” Ousmane Dia continues: “The approach we will adopt is intended to be participatory. The Ttc movement is open to all those who recognize themselves in the values and ambitions of the movement.” Before hammering home: “The Tambacoundois of the diaspora are motivated and determined to take up the fight for the development of the region. We will use all our relationships to help the region emerge. Certainly efforts have been made in recent years, however, he notes, there is still much to accomplish for the development of people. We note that the interests of Tambacounda are not sufficiently taken into account in the country’s development programs. This is why we have decided to become actively involved, in the medium and long term, in the management of local institutions.” He adds: “for this, we invite brave ladies, intrepid young people, all sections of the population who share the vision, to join us,” urges Mr. Dia.

The professor of visual art in Switzerland goes on to give the details of their motivations: “The members of the Ttc movement are driven by the principles of enlightened citizenship and we pose as a credible alternative to provide answers to political, health, educational, economic, cultural, environmental issues that our dear region is facing.” He appeals to all the populations of the city for the renewal of Tamba. “Whether you are Tambacoundois by birth or adoption or simply a friend of the region, our deep conviction is and remains that it is time to change the course of things,” said Mr. Dia. By creating, he says, a new political dynamic in order to succeed in the challenge of the profound changes that are required. What is and remains clear, he reiterates, Ttc will be on the starting blocks for the race for town hall and the Departmental Council. No more parachuting of leaders always imposed by the central level. There are in Tambacounda and in the movement valiant men and women capable of leading local institutions,” underlined the Ttc diaspora coordinator.
