Many projects are underway, such as “the extension of the high-speed line (LGV) from Kénitra to Marrakech and the development of a regional express network (RER) in the urban areas of Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakech“, reports the Ecofin Agency website.
In total, 8.45 billion euros will be invested in rail.
Several airport platforms will also be expanded such as those of Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan, Marrakech Menara, Agadir and Dakhla. In addition, stadiums will be built, such as the Hassan II enclosure which will become, with 115,000 spectators, one of the largest stadiums in the world.
To accommodate supporters from all over the world, 187 new hotels should be built by 2030, or at least 15,000 additional rooms.
In total, Morocco expects to welcome 3 million tourists during the competition.
