After a remarkable journey and worldwide recognition, Morocco leaves the Kings World Cup in the semi-final following its defeat against Colombia (1-2).

The match started well for the Atlas Lions who opened the scoring following a goal from Nadir Louah in the 2nd minute. The Colombians’ equalizer came in the 6th minute thanks to Julius before Angellot hit the nail on the head in the 19th minute to seal the fate of the team led by Ilyas El Malki.

Mountakhab was about to come back to the score after M’barek Boussoufa’s penalty canceled by the VAR causing incomprehension by the viewers.

Furthermore, the refereeing sparked some controversy, considering it to be in favor of the Colombians to the detriment of the national team which witnessed fouls not called.

Note that the matches in this competition are played in a specific format: seven players per team, two 20-minute halves, and unlimited substitutions.

The match begins with a one-on-one duel for one minute, after which the rest of the players gradually join in.
