After starting out at Radio France and Radio Suisse Romande, the gastronomic journalist notably presented the shows “Grands gourmands” between 1997 and 2000 on France 3 as well as the shows exploring French terroir “Carte poste gourmande” and “Les escapades de Petitrenaud ” on France 5. “Tired”, in 2017 he stopped hosting this Sunday afternoon program which went to meet producers. “For twenty years I have been working twelve months out of twelve, running, discovering, sewing stories and traveling across France. I want to relax physically“, he confided to “Parisien” at the time. Carrine Teyssandier then took over until the show was stopped in 2018.

Originally from Clermont-Ferrand, Jean-Luc Petitrenaud had in his youth trained in boilermaking, been a specialized educator and took lessons at Annie Fratellini’s circus school, as a clown. He then devoted himself to cooking, on which he published numerous books.
