“I think that we have reached an extremely worrying threshold with Algeria,” lamented the Minister of the Interior, who spoke on Friday during a trip to Nantes.
“We can clearly see that Algeria seeks to humiliate France,” lamented Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau on Friday January 10. A declaration which comes the day after the expulsion to Algeria of the Algerian influencer Doualemn, immediately returned to France in the evening, his country of origin having “inadmissible”. “I mean my amazement, I“I think that with Algeria we have reached an extremely worrying threshold.” added the minister, who was speaking during a trip to Nantes.
The Minister of the Interior also recalled that Algeria currently holds the writer Boualem Sansal, “who is not only Algerian, but who is also French”. “Can a great country, can a great people, take the honor of keeping in detention, for bad reasons, someone who is sick and elderly?”he asked the press.
“France cannot tolerate this situation. And I think (…) that we must now evaluate all the means that are at our disposal, and I mean all the means, with regard to Algeria. (…)”, he detailed. “There is a range of possibilities, which I will not detail here, which must be studied at the highest level, government and President of the Republic”continued the minister before declaring: “I think Algeria is reaching a milestone.”
