This event, which will bring together 30 young basketball players from around the world, aims to detect talents who could join one of the teams that will compete in the Basketball Africa League (BAL 2025).
These young talents will be closely monitored by club managers, coaches and recruiters, including coaches who took part in the “Africa Coaches program as part of the NBA 2K25 Summer League” last July in Las Vegas.
Speaking at a press conference, held Thursday in Rabat to present this edition of “Combine”, the president of the BAL, Amadou Gallo Fall, stressed that this event is part of the efforts of the “Combine”. League” aiming to promote African basketball on an international scale, highlighting the essential role of the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB) in this regard.
He also indicated that the choice of Morocco to host such competitions has become “natural”, noting that the Kingdom continues to display its capacity in terms of organizing the biggest events at the continental, regional and international levels. .
“Morocco is a country which represents a radiant image of an Africa in action,” insisted the president of the First Professional League launched by the NBA outside North America.
As part of “Combine 2025”, the BAL will organize the “BAL4HER”, a platform, which will bring together 20 hopefuls (U23) from local communities around Rabat.
“BAL4HER” aims to promote gender equality in the African sports ecosystem and celebrate sportswomen who are role models for young women across the continent. The BAL will also offer a training course to around a hundred local coaches.
As a reminder, the 5th edition of the BAL will begin on April 5, 2025 in Rabat and end on June 14 in Pretoria, South Africa.
This new “season” will feature 12 teams who will play 48 matches in Rabat, Dakar, Kigali and Pretoria.
