Towards the cancellation of Eid Al Adha 2025 in Morocco?

Several rumors have been circulating in recent weeks according to which Eid Al Adha 2025 would be canceled due to the drought affecting the Kingdom, the drop in livestock production and the rise in prices of red meat.

Mustapha Baitas, government spokesperson, reacted to this information, indicating that it is still too early to discuss a possible cancellation of the sacrifice festival. During a press briefing held this Thursday after the Governing Council, Baitas recalled that there are still five months before Eid Al Adha. “Changes are planned during this period,” he confided.

He added that the government is closely monitoring the situation and has made many efforts to find solutions to this problem.

Remember that the prices of red meats continue to soar in the Kingdom’s markets despite the measures taken by the government to facilitate their importation.

According to Mohamed Jebli, president of the Moroccan Federation of Livestock Sector Stakeholders (FMAFE), the prices of red tariffs have not fallen despite imports given that their cost in exporting countries has recorded a significant increase.

At the same time, many voices have been raised to criticize the continued recourse to imports, believing that this measure has not produced any concrete results given that prices continue to increase.
