The “Achat d’or” store in Vevey (VD) suffered an attack late Wednesday afternoon, the Vaud cantonal police reported in a press release on Thursday. The perpetrator threatened an employee with a handgun. He took the amount given to him, before running away in an unknown direction, the police said.
The jewelry store employee was not injured and was treated by officers. The police quickly set up a major search system which has so far failed to arrest the perpetrator of this robbery. Informed, the public prosecutor opened criminal proceedings and entrusted the investigation to the Vaud security police.
The police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone able to provide information or information about this event and its perpetrator is invited to call the number 021 343 15 10 or contact the nearest police station.
The individual sought isA light-skinned man of normal build. A black scarf or handkerchief hid his face. He wore a black hooded jacket, black pants, white gloves and black sneakers. He left on foot in an unknown direction from the old town of Vevey.
-This intervention required the engagement of Gendarmerie patrols, including the canine brigade, the DARD-GIPL, as well as several patrols from the Riviera Police, the Est-Lausannois Police, the Lavaux Police Association, as well as inspectors from the Vaudois Security Police.
The attacked store specializes in the purchase and sale of gold, precious metals, precious stones and second-hand luxury watches.
