These young talents, led by Mouhamadou Gueye, a self-taught engineer in drone mechanics and electronics, demonstrate impressive potential, calling for increased government support.

Mouhamadou Gueye explains the reasons behind this initiative: “With imported drones, we often encounter difficulties linked to our geographical realities. Battery life problems, repair and availability of spare parts complicate their use. » To respond to these challenges, the team decided to locally manufacture robust drones adapted to local climatic conditions.

Among their achievements, a drone designed for the national navy, capable of monitoring the Senegalese coasts over a distance of up to 100 km and flying for several hours. Fully autonomous, this device aims to effectively combat illegal fishing, smuggling at sea and illegal emigration. An innovation that combines technology and commitment to sustainable development.
