As we announced to you a few weeks ago now, Marius Trésor will have a stadium in his name, in Guadeloupe. For the occasion, the Variétés Club de France will play a friendly match at “Gwada” in his honor. This meeting will take place on January 18 in Sainte-Anne, between former Juventus players and the Variétés Club de France. Three days earlier, Marius will have celebrated his 75th birthday.
A delegation of 27 people who will travel to Guadeloupe to celebrate the inauguration of the Marius Trésor Stadium. Many players from the West Indies will obviously be present, but also other regulars from the Variétés Club de France. The names put forward are Florent Sinama-Pongolle, Robert Pires, Alain Giresse, Souleymane Diawara, Paulo César, Frédéric Piquionne, Gérard Janvion, Roger Hitoto, Sidney Govou, Ciryl Gane, Jacques Vendroux, Christian Karembeu, Jocelyn Angloma, and Frank Silvestre.

“Marius Trésor is a friend and a brother. He is one of the legends of the French Football Team, of world football but also of the Variétés Club de France. This will be the 13th Variétés match in Guadeloupe, for our 54th season.”
For the occasion, all profits will be donated to the Juventus football school in Sainte-Anne. Marius Trésor's first club.
