The project to redevelop the west entrance to Vevey is entering its concrete phase. The speed, currently limited to 50 km/h, will be lowered to 30 km/h throughout Nestlé Avenue in order to promote gentle mobility and user safety. The work is planned to last eight months.

In order to offer a more welcoming and green face to this busy thoroughfare, the project plans to plant trees and permeabilize the ground surfaces. A sound-absorbing coating will be applied to the roadway to reduce noise pollution and speed. Public lighting will also be completely renovated, the Municipality said in a press release on Wednesday.

Site installation will begin next Monday, one week before work begins. During the construction site, with the exception of a few one-off interventions, traffic will be maintained and pedestrian access guaranteed.
