On August 20, the police were informed that Gianni was suspected of having hit his sister-in-law following a domestic dispute with the mother of his children. The latter had decided to take refuge with her sister in Saint-Nicolas.
Gianni, who had, by his own admission, drunk two bottles of whiskey and used cocaine, decided to drive there. He then allegedly beat his partner’s sister after breaking a window.

He fled and crashed into a vehicle. The police officer took advantage of the fact that the driver’s side window had been left open by the fugitive to gas him.
The latter restarted and struck a second parked vehicle. During his maneuver, he brushed against a police officer. The inspector then fired towards the rim of the car. A bullet hit the tire. The motorist continued on his way before being stopped in his escape by the state of his vehicle. The suspect was arrested.
