The region is strongly affected byinfluenza epidemic and acute respiratory infections who create important tensions and continuous on the health system.

Burgundy-Franche-Comté has entered its fourth week of flu epidemic with a very strong viral dynamic observed by Public Health , in community medicine, as well as in terms of regulation and visits to emergency rooms.

The region has also begun its fifth week of bronchiolitis epidemic.

In this context, the health system is under great strain and healthcare professionals face very high activityobliging certain hospitals, such as that of Lons-le-Saunier, triggered the white plan.

Anticipation and monitoring

The Burgundy-Franche-Comté Regional Health Agency (ARS) has, for its part, activated its organization for anticipation, support and monitoring of exceptional health situations in each of the departments.

Wearing a mask is recommended

The Agency also recommended that all health and medico-social establishments in the region make wearing a mask compulsory on their sites and strengthen hygiene measures and prevention.

“Beyond the hospital grounds, it is every inhabitant of Burgundy-Franche-Comté who has the power to act to reduce the circulation of viruses, protect ourselves and the most vulnerable,” recalls the ARS in a press release.

“The Regional Health Agency therefore recommends wearing a mask, obviously in the event of symptoms, but also for example in situations of promiscuity and reminds that other simple barrier gestures: washing your hands as frequently as possible, regularly ventilating your hands enclosed spaces, etc., can be enough to protect lives! “.

The ARS also insists on good reflexes to contribute to reasoned use of emergency rooms in our hospitals: not spontaneously going to a service but contact your doctor first, or dial 15medical regulation making it possible to implement care adapted to the needs of each patient.

Think about vaccination

Finally, it is still possible to get vaccinated to protect against severe forms of the flu and COVID.

This double vaccination is particularly recommended for those over 65 years oldfor people who are immunocompromised or suffering from chronic illnesses (regardless of their age) as well as pregnant women.
