In 2024, some 521,860 users of the road were flashed by radars in Seine-et-Marne. If the figure is down 20% compared to 2023, this drop is not linked to better compliance with the speed limit… According to the prefecture, a maintenance problem which occurred at the national level, rather explains this drop in reported infractions.
Where are the radars that flashed the most in 2024
We must also take into account the damage that was reported last year: like the construction site radar at Jouy-le-Châtel, which, last July, had been turned over and did not risk flashing users in infractions… The figures from this 2024 “list” of the radars which have flashed the most, if they are not definitive (because they are finalized on November 30), make it possible to give a trend.
Especially since the road safety figures are very bad this year with 70 deaths on the roads in 2024 (non-final figure). Last year, here are the five fixed speed cameras that most caught the eye of road users in Seine-et-Marne:
1. Pontault-Combault
The turret radar installed since December 2022, on the RD 1004, near Pontault-Combault, comes in first with 42,888 flashes. Note: it goes both ways.
2. Lognes
The old generation radar installed on the A4, in Lognes, in the province-Paris direction with 33,490 flashes.
3. Lésigny
The old generation radar of the Francilienne (N104), in Lésigny, in the direction Brie-Comte-Robert/Pontault-Combault, with 33,181 flashes. It is this equipment that was the most popular in Seine-et-Marne in 2021.
4. Bailly-Romainvilliers
The old generation radar of the RD 344P, in Bailly-Romainvilliers, in the Bailly/Chessy direction with 25,752 flashes.
5. Bannost-Villegagnon
The radar turret of the RD 1004, near Bannost-Villegagnon, with 24,382 flashes. It also goes both ways. In recent years, this is the device which topped the list of offenses recorded in the department.
52 radars in Seine-et-Marne, but new ones to come in 2025
If Seine-et-Marne currently has 52 radars (32 fixed and 20 so-called construction site and therefore mobile), the deployment campaign must continue in 2025, with in particular three new radars announced, the locations of which have however not yet been specified.
“We have a deployment plan planned every year,” indicates Frédéric Lavigne, the chief of staff of the prefect of Seine-et-Marne. This campaign is planned on particularly accident-prone roads. It is also the accident statistics, linked to speed, which determine the locations of the speed cameras. »
