Tom and Mattéo leave Orne to join the artillery and the combat helicopter regiment

Both first recruits of 2025 are there. Mattéo and Tom enlisted in the Army in Alençon (Orne), Tuesday January 7, 2025.

The contract signing ceremony, organized by the Alençon armed forces information and recruitment center, brought together the families of these young people and made it possible to validate their entry for several years in the military institution.

Mattéo, resident of Domfront-en-Poiraieenlisted as a fighter of theartillery for the benefit of the 68th regimentAfrican artillery from the Valbonne camp located in the Ain department.

For his part, Tom, originally fromAlençonhe joined Étain, in the Meuse, in order to engage in the 3rd combat helicopter regimentas a first aid stretcher bearer.

A similar journey

For these first two Ornais recruits of the year, the course to come will be at the very least similar but in very different places.

After two weeks in their respective regiment, they will join for approximately three monthstheir initial military training center (CFIM). There, they will acquire the basics of being a soldier with a core common to all Army personnel.

One will go to Valdahon, in Doubs, while the other will go to Dieuze, in Moselle. Then, during the following three months, Tom and Mattéo will specialize in their regiment in order to be operational in their role.
