The sky on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, is bright from the early hours of the day. The clouds, more numerous in the afternoon, have no impact on the feeling of good weather which will reign throughout the day. The wind is noticeable in the North and the South. The thermometer climbs to 34°C near La Saline-les-Bains.
After several days of very cloudy and often rainy skies, this Wednesday should be bright from morning to evening. “Apart from a few ephemeral clouds which wash up along the eastern coastline, the sun is out from daybreak on most of the island,” specifies Météo-France La Réunion.
This afternoon, the traditional cloud cover settles in along the slopes. “The clouds remain harmless, they are more numerous in the West and the South and tend to thin out as they move towards the seaside,” specify the meteorologists.
The easterly flow is moderate. Gusts of 60 to 70 km/h are expected along the Wild South. They should reach 50 to 60 km/h from Sainte-Suzanne to Saint-Denis. A regime of breezes reigns in the cirques of Salazie and Cilaos and on the lagoon side of Ermitage-les-Bains.
Maximum temperatures remain very high. Thermometers should oscillate between 31 and 34°C along the coast, around 30°C in the cirques and display more than 20°C at Maïdo and Pas de Bellecombe-Jacob.
The sea is not very rough in the West and the South-West. It is agitated in the other sectors by an easterly swell of 1 meter to 1.50 m.
