Weather France placed the department ofOise on orange alert snow et black ice and on yellow alert raw this Wednesday, January 8.

The forecasting organization announces a snowy episode in a northern part of France, including the Oise for the early evening. An episode which will be preceded by “a drop in temperatures on Wednesday afternoon” before “first light rain or mixed rain and snow, which will take on a snowy character as it progresses over Hauts-de-France” in the early evening. An episode which will mainly concern the northern half of the department.

5 to 10 centimeters of snow expected

These snowy precipitations will “continue in the evening, shifting towards Pas-de- where they will fall throughout the night, before circulating again across the entire region on Thursday morning,” forecasts Météo France. In the departments placed on orange alert, “notable accumulations of snow” are expected. Further snowfall is therefore possible tomorrow, Thursday, January 9, a day during which the department will be kept on orange alert for snow and ice.

For this snowy episode, Météo France is announcing 5 to 10 cm in the , -Pas-de-Calais and the northern half of the Oise. The orange alert for snow and ice also concerns four other northern departments: Seine-Maritime, Somme, Aisne, Nord and Pas-de-Calais.
