Senegal, through the Ministry of National Education, celebrated National Girls’ Education Day on Thursday. For this edition, the First Lady, Marie Khone Faye was chosen as godmother. Presiding over this ceremony, Ms. Faye stressed that Senegal has all the assets to become an example of progress and solidarity under the international chain.

« To do this, we must together mobilize all the vital forces of the Nation, in order to overcome the challenges and build a better future for all. Thus, we will contribute to the construction of a fairer and more equitable society, as recommended by the Senegal 2050 national transformation agenda. “, said the first wife of the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

With this in mind, the First Lady hopes that this new year will be marked by “ concrete actions » in favor of girls. “ This day is a precious moment where we highlight the vital importance of education for all girls in Senegal. This event embodies our common vision of a future where every girl, regardless of her place of birth, her status, will have the same opportunities to learn, grow and fully participate in the socio-economic development of the country. “, she added.

This year’s theme, ” social and educational equity, for inclusive and quality education, at the heart of our missions », underlines, according to Marie Khone Faye, the importance of girls’ education in socio-economic development.
