The State mechanisms of the city contract concluded for six years and the Cité scolaire label aim to recreate social cohesion in neighborhoods which concentrate the most populations in difficulty. 10 % of inhabitants of CoVe and 7 420 people in Carpentras, i.e. 25 % of the population live in one of the four priority neighborhoods.
In the heart of the city of Pous du Plan, mid-December, the mayor Serge Andrieu, the prefect of Vaucluse Thierry Suquet, the academic director of national education services Philippe Koszyk and the president of the CoVe Jacqueline Bouyac initialed the convention developed with all local stakeholders.
Transform, innovate… and not just manage
The city's four Priority Neighborhoods (QPV) have neither the same expectations nor the same issues. But for families, living properly means be safe, not being hostages to drug trafficking and being able to benefit from training prospects or employment identical to those of the populations of other neighborhoods.

An investment program of €2 million per year
A collective approach, concerted with neighborhood residents and the widely engaged associative fabric, aims to deploy on the CoVe and outside QPV, the specificity of the contract, via the educational success program.
At Daudet college classified Priority Education Network (REP+), cultural openness allowed students to win the 2023 improv culture and diversity trophy in Paris.
Renewed every year since 2022, the training and careers forum, reserved for 3rd grade middle school students, helps their future orientation in the world of work.
The Convergence project of the local mission and the Vaucluse employment integration collective enabled minors from QPV who had broken down to return to studies or enter an apprenticeship.
After three years of implementation and in view of the encouraging results on the new opportunities offered to young people from the QPV of Carpentras, the State has extended the system to 0/3 year olds and 16/20 year olds.
A subsidy line of 92 000 € of the CoVe (included in the Educational City component), manages to raise credits for a program of 2 M€ per year. State financial support of 809 000 € is divided between the city contract and the Cité scolaire system. 675 000 € will be dedicated to this last approach over the period 2024-2026.
