“People realize that it’s not an easy job”

The Haute-Marne young farmers' union has had great success this year with their new “Gods of the Fields” calendar. An opportunity for this union which uses these operations to finance operations to raise awareness of the agricultural cause.

Farmers, naked among the animals on their farm. These are comical, even sensual, images that the Haut-Marnais will be happy to find again this year in the 2025 calendar of the young farmers' union (JA).

“Of the 750 boxes of calendars (each containing 50 calendars)we only have three left.” rejoices Eva Bougard-Mielle, union mission manager. Proof that these unexpected photos of young farmers have nothing to envy of those of the famous calendar of the stadium gods.

The recipe for this success? “The humorous aspect of finding your neighbor, or naked locals” explains Eva Bougard-Mielle. The current events of 2024 marked by farmers' demonstrations throughout Europe have also strongly reinforced the population's feeling of solidarity towards these farmers: “People realize that it is not an easy job and that it is essential.”, she explains.

At a price of eleven euros, the calendar will make it possible to finance union staff and certain operations such as agricultural awareness workshops in college classes.
But as the union mission manager indicates, ““It's not profit that we're primarily looking for, we want above all to give a positive image to farmers.”

Still in this awareness-raising approach, she announces the publication shortly of a third volume of The adventures of Louise and Gabriel, an educational book which aims to raise awareness among young people about the issue of agriculture.
