France is aging, and so is the Channel. Facing theissue of population agingwhere the proportion of seniors over 60 should reach, according to INSEE, 38% in the department in 2030the commission of financiers of the prevention of loss of autonomy launches two calls for projects for 2025.
Calls for projects every year
This body, under the presidency of the departmental council, brings together several organizations such as pension funds, the primary health insurance fund, the departmental union of municipal social action centers, intermunicipalities, etc.
It coordinates the actors concerned with preventing loss of autonomy, and finances prevention actions. The principle of its action is to leave the initiative of implementation to the field actors who carry out the actions, while co-constructing with the partners the framework and objectives, which respond to a territorial need.
Established by the 2015 law on adapting society to aging, it launches calls for projects each year to financially support project leaders. For 2025, two calls for projects are open until February 7.
“The first aims to finance actions for EHPAD residents and the second for seniors at home and caregivers. It also co-finances with the regional health agency (ARS), a call for projects for EHPAD residents for health prevention actions. » A presentation of these calls for projects will take place on Thursday January 16 at 2 p.m. at the Maison du Département in Saint-Lô.
In 2024, out of 180 projects submitted, 150 were selected: 15 for residents of EHPADs, 120 for seniors at home and 15 for caregivers. The overall amount of aid granted reached €1,394,284.
Model accommodation in Coutances
Among the projects, some of them stood out from the crowd, in particular Pass-SAAD. “This system raises awareness of home autonomy services with the aim of facilitating the early detection of situations at risk of falls, fragilities and triggering the remote intervention of an occupational therapist, via tele-occupational therapy. This remote intervention aims to provide, for home help, the perspective of an occupational therapist and to obtain personalized advice to guarantee the safety at home of seniors losing their autonomy.” It enabled the implementation of several awareness sessions by an occupational therapist. In 2024, five home autonomy services will have benefited from this sustained support to the tune of €17,000.
The financing committee also supported a “housing project that demonstrates aging well” in the Claires Fontaines district of Coutances by paying it a subsidy of €20,000. Proposed by three CLICs from Center Manche, it focuses on adapting housing to loss of autonomy.
This accommodation is aimed at elderly people and/or people with disabilities, family and professional caregivers, autonomy professionals and local elected officials. Demonstration visits are offered and accompanied by an occupational therapist. They allow you to visualize and test technical aids and home automation tools that can be adapted to the needs of people losing their autonomy.
The calls for projects aim to bring out “innovative local initiatives in favor of the elderly and their caregivers”.
