Thursday January 9, Yaël Braun-Pivet, the president of the National Assembly will arrive in Mayotte for a two-day visit, accompanied by the LIOT deputy (Libertés, Indépendants, Overseas and territories) Estelle Youssouffa.

The President of the Assembly will go here to “prepare the parliamentary debate on the emergency bill for Mayotte”. Bill which will be presented next week to the Council of Ministers.
It also involves “evaluating in situ the responses provided and identifying persistent needs” after the passage of Cyclone Chido.
Yaël Braun-Pivet is not his first visit to Mayotte. In January 2024, she was in Mayotte “to address crucial issues such as water management, natural risks, migration issues and the aspirations of the population”.
