Morocco turns its jacket against Lekjaa!

Algeria After making more than questionable decisions, the president of the FRMF, Fouzi Lekjaa, sees all of Morocco turning against him.

The match between Maghreb de Fez (MAS) and Union Touarga, played on Sunday at the 18 Novembre stadium in Khemisset as part of the 17th day of the professional championship, was marked by a real revolt from MAS supporters. The latter, frustrated by a series of controversial decisions taken by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), led by Fouzi Lekjaa, expressed their discontent, which caused a huge wave of reactions in Morocco.

Tension erupted at the start of the match when MAS supporters, who had come en masse to encourage their team, were refused entry to the stadium under the pretext of a lack of tickets. This situation provoked strong anger among fans, who denounced disastrous management and a lack of consideration for their central role in Moroccan football.

Faced with their insistence and mobilization, the authorities finally allowed supporters access after half-time. Their triumphant entry into the stadium immediately galvanized the MAS players, who delivered a brilliant performance to win 3-0. This victory highlights the vital importance of supporter support, especially in a tense context where the FRMF’s decisions are increasingly contested.

Beyond the field, criticism also targeted the leaders of the MAS. Many supporters criticize them for a lack of solidarity, citing ineffective management and decisions taken without consultation with the club’s popular base. This crisis reflects a deeper unease regarding the governance of Moroccan football, where the choices of Fouzi Lekjaa and the FRMF continue to divide.

Despite everything, this victory allows MAS to climb to fifth place in the ranking with 28 points, overtaking Wydad Casablanca (27 points). A sporting success which, nevertheless, cannot mask the growing tensions between the governing bodies and the essential players in Moroccan football: the supporters.
